  • Some photos of Riley over the past months, who is now about 1 year and 5 months old, and still our silly, smart, happy little girl :)

  • Here are some random iPhone shots I took while in Big Bear.

And here's a [very] short stop-motion video I put together with some of the photos we took while we were there:

  • We recently celebrated Riley's 1st birthday! We bought her a "Birthday Cake" flavored Pup-Pie, and had almost as much fun watching her, as she did eating it! I can't believe she's already one year old...I feel like we just got her!

  • I ended up not being able to request any days off from work this past December, so Anthony and I took a belated holiday trip to Big Bear at the beginning of January! We also decided to take Riley along so she could experience snow for the first time. Our cabin was literally right on the lake, and it had just snowed a couple days before we got there. It was such a fun trip!

  • I swear she does more than just lounge around lol.

  • The last time we drove up to Santa Barbara, we stopped by one of my favorite places...the Harbor. Although the breakwater part was closed and we couldn't walk along the wall, we were able to go down by the boats and let Riley explore. It was a good day.

  • We've really been having fun with Riley lately, especially now that she's been altered and fully vaccinated, and can now make daily trips to the dog park to play with friends! Obedience training is still in progress, but we've only had her for a month and a half, so I'd say she's learning really fast!

I was able to take these couple pics of her last weekend while she was sitting still (a rare occurrence these days).

  • Nowadays, I am constantly worrying about the welfare of this new life we are now responsible for, and, at the same time, I am trying not to be too overprotective. I've come to realize that having a new puppy is what I envision having a new baby will be like. Exhausting, yet very rewarding.
